FortaGen (Prod 9752)

About FortaGen (Prod 9752)

FortaGen® for rotator cuff surgery repairs the tendons that connect the upper arm bones to the shoulder blade. The tendons help raise and rotate the arm, thus, if overloaded, they can be subjected to inflammation and tear. Surgery involves reattachment of tendons to bone and repair of tendon tears. To support and speed up healing of the tendons, CuffPatch™ is wrapped around the tendon. It is eight layers of FortaGen® and studies demonstrate that FortaGen® constructs with a low level of collagen crosslinking. Organogenesis Inc. has expanded the indications for additional tendon repair applications including all rotator cuff tendons, patellar tendon, and Achilles tendon. CuffPatch™ is the first collagen biomaterial to be approved by the FDA for all tendons of the human body. CuffPatch™ is a trademark of Biomet, Inc.
