About Flexor Tendon Repair Implantables
The revolutionary flexor tendon repair implantables are a bio-absourbable polymer. They maintain their structural integrity during the critical 3-6 week healing phase, reducing the initial load stress on the tendon and facilitating glide, prior to completing resorption within a 60-90 day period. All implantables are easily sutured and trimmed and can be used both distally and proximally to the repair site. TOBY seeks to minimize tendon adhesions, minimize the likelihood of tenolysis, minimize the rupture of the repair site, and minimize flexion contractures due to poor distal glide and facilitate the restoration of passive and active range of motion, optimizing patient rehabilitation.
