Intended to replace a degenerated disc in the cervical spine, permit motion of the treated segment, and improve function

The safety and effectiveness of the CerviCore™ disc for these purposes will be evaluated in a United States clinical trial through an investigational Device Exemption (IDE) granted by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). The CerviCore™ Cervical Intervertebral Disc was designed to reproduce the biomechanics of the natural cervical joint. Articulation of the prosthesis is provided by opposing cobalt chromium saddle-shaped bearing surfaces, which provide coupled motion. The surgical technique also incorporates well established anterior cervical surgical procedures.
