VELOX™ is designed to fill critical size bone defects after a trauma, a reconstruction or a corrective intervention. VELOX™ is supplied in a sterile syringe that can be directly applied to fill a critical size bone defect. As VELOX™ does only set in the bone and not in the syringe, the surgeon is under no time restriction during application, whereas conventional powder-liquid bone substitute cements can only be used for a few minutes before they start to set in the delivery device. VELOX™ will be available for clinical applications in the EU as of the beginning of 2015.
