RIO - Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System (Prod 9523)

About RIO - Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System (Prod 9523)

The RIO™ Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System incorporates tactile guidance into a surgeon-interactive platform, making bone resection highly precise and the MAKOplasty® procedure surgeon-friendly. RIO™ is a proprietary robotic arm system that enables the surgeon to pre-operatively plan the alignment and placement of knee resurfacing implants and to intra-operatively sculpt complex, anatomic, tissue-sparing and bone-conserving cuts accurately. RIO™ assists the surgeon in achieving natural knee kinematics and optimal results at a level of precision previously unattainable with conventional instrumentation.

RIO™ Features:

  • Accurately plan implant size, orientation and alignment utilizing CT-derived 3-D modeling
  • Enabling the pre-resection capture of patient-specific kinematic tracking through full flexion and extension
  • Real-time intra-operative adjustments for correct knee kinematics and soft-tissue balance
  • Minimally invasive and bone sparing, with minimal tissue trauma for faster recovery
