About Lottes Tibial Nail (Prod 5779)
The Lottes Tibial Nail (pronounced "lotties") is a stainless steel, cannulated, reamed tibial nail developed by Dr. J. Otto Lottes, an orthopaedic surgeon from Missouri.
It was developed when "over-reaming" was the technique used to lock the nail in the canal.
Additional information: According to Dr. Robert Neviaser, the original nails designed by Lottes came in only two diameters: 5/16" and 3/8".
