SmartBone™ models are RealBone™ models that carry additional surgical planning information from our OrthoVis™ software. A SmartBone™ with Guide Pin model includes a pin trajectory where a surgical guide pin can be easily placed. This guide pin trajectory can be accurately measured and placed exactly where desired in the SmartBone™ software model in OrthoVis™. When the SmartBone™ model is manufactured, this exact pre-planned trajectory is embedded within the model. The SmartBone™ with Guide Pin model can then be used to compare and accurately place an implant guide pin as part of a total joint replacement surgery.
