The entire process of design, creation and ordering of patient-specific implants and surgical instruments is managed by µiFidelity. The µiFidelity process ensures that the right implant arrives at the specific site at the expected time. The software suite is a web-based system that accounts for the entire process from the imaging of the joint to the delivery of the customized implant and instruments.
Based on data obtained by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the patient-specific implant (Episealer) and the surgical guide (Epiguide) are designed specifically for each patient. Other surgical instruments such as a drill, cartilage cutter and accessories are delivered together with the patient-specific parts; altogether fewer than 10 instruments that are discarded after surgery.
